Web 2.0 grief debate

Early on the web was used as a vehicle for transmission of information from one source to another not unlike transmission based modes of instruction like the lecture. But now it has become something much more interactive. Where are we going? What have we created? I have no idea.
What got me thinking about this was unfortunately a tragic event. A good friend of mine died recently in a motor cycling accident.  My friend just so happened to be an avid facebook user. After his death, his facebook acct was inundated with friends and family saying their goodbyes. His facebook acct had  transformed into something much more than an interactive interface.  PAUSE right here. How you  you feel about a technical platform becoming the base for the grieving process-a very intimate endeavor?    This is what i am curious about. Just think on it. Where are we going?
