All Things Pankish

No Thesis Necessary

[ / May 9th, 2009 / Young Bright Things ]

We have been tossing around the idea of sharing some highlights from the work we’re passing on that clearly demonstrates submitters who a. have not read our guidelines and/or b. have not read an issue of PANK, which is somewhat distressing given the amount of excellent, free content we make available online and/or c. have demonstrated a questionable grip on reality.

Thus far, we’ve not taken this step, but today I read a submission where the author’s explanation of their creative work was longer than the creative work itself. Things explained were the work’s structural scheme, thematic elements, and ultimate project. I would excerpt some of the key paragraphs from this thesis but we are not mean-spirited here at PANK and so, instead, I will simply say, when submitting, let your work speak for itself. A thesis addendum is not necessary and is in fact deeply, deeply frowned upon.
