The Poetry Society of America is thrilled to announce that the reading period is now open to submissions for our 100th Annual PSA Awards and Chapbook Fellowships.

The PSA’s Annual Awards are among the most prestigious honors available to poets. They offer emerging and established poets recognition at all stages of their careers. A few examples of the PSA Awards include the Lyric Poetry Award, which offers $500 to a lyric poem on any subject; the Writer Magazine/Emily Dickinson Award, which recognizes a poem inspired by Dickinson with a $250 prize; and the Robert H. Winner Memorial Award, a $2,500 award established to acknowledge a mid-career poet who has not received substantial recognition.

The PSA Chapbook Fellowships offer a $1,000 prize and publication of a first book. The 2010 PSA National Chapbook Fellowships will be judged by Kimiko Hahn and James Tate. The PSA New York Chapbook Fellowships will be judged by Cornelius Eady and Rosanna Warren.

The reading period for the 100th Annual PSA Awards runs from October 1st – December 22nd, 2009, and we encourage you to consider passing this along to your colleagues. Guidelines are available here.

If you have any questions about the contest or guideline information, please do not hesitate to contact Admin@PoetrySociety.org.
